We look forward to welcoming you to

Waratah Park Country House

Waratah Bay -    Overlooking Wilsons Promontory National Park

Waratah Park Country House with its 6 deluxe bedrooms with ensuites and corner double spas, is stage 1 of "The Promontory Resort" development which will comprise 54 one, two and three bedroom deluxe villas, tree top day spa, tennis court, gymnasium and more. Located above Waratah Bay with magnificent seascape views over Wilsons Promontory National Park, Waratah Park Country House is the ideal place to experience "country hospitality". From the time you arrive to the time of your departure we want you to feel "at home" and to enjoy Waratah Park Country House as much as we enjoy having you here.

After a warm greeting, we will show you what will be yours to enjoy for the period of your stay with us. We begin with our large lounge, with its huge cosy open log fire and our restaurant and bar with unsurpassed seascape views over Bass Strait and Wilsons Promontory.  Then we will show you your room with its own spectacular sea views and  assist you with your bags so that you can settle in.  When you are ready a nice cup of tea or coffee and home-made cake, biscuits or slices in front of the open fire is a must in winter.  Then you might decided to adjourn for a spa and a rest, or go out to explore the countryside....whatever takes your fancy!

Co-owner of Waratah Park Country House, Bill Thomson is a "local" and knows all the walks on Wilsons Promontory National Park if you plan on making that your focus during your stay.  Or, perhaps a walk in the adjacent Cape Liptrap Coastal Park, or along the beach at Waratah Bay or Walkerville is more to your liking. Bill can advise on the types of walks that would be suitable for you, as well as outlining other attractions of the area for you to visit during your stay.  Perhaps a visit to a local winery (including Bass Phillip, Lyrebird Hill, Waratah Hills to name a few) is more your style!

Talking of wine.....why not curl up in front of the fire with a drop or two or local wine and a magnificent cheese and fruit plate, and wile away the hours.

Dining at night at "The Prom Restaurant" at Waratah Park Country House is an experience not to be missed.  You are guaranteed a seat in front of the large panoramic windows which make gazing out to sea over Waratah Bay and Wilsons Promontory that much more memorable. Try some more local produce over dinner, when Co-owner Paula Thomson prepares a magnificent 4 course meal which uses only the finest local produce and "The Prom Restaurant" is fully licensed featuring a selection of the very best local wines for you to accompany your meal.  Paula changes the menu daily and with advance notice can cater to any special dietary requirements you may have.  Whilst dining you will no doubt catch a glimpse of some of the native wildlife. Rosella parrots, wallabies, kangaroos, wombats, echidnas, and deer all graze at different times of the day, and at sunset and sunrise you are bound to see them!  After dinner, why not retire to a cosy seat in front of the large open log fire and enjoy your complimentary port and coffee or tea!

After a relaxing night you awake to the most magnificent seascape view of Wilsons Promontory and Waratah Bay from your bedroom window.  Birds are singing and all's right with the world! What a way to start the day.  Now for breakfast. You can start light if you like with a continental breakfast, but Bill also does a fantastic cooked breakfast.  Just the thing if you plan a strenuous day walking and exploring.
